I wish what wont

I wish what won’t.

I wish I had a girlfriend, one who I sat with throughout the week. I wish we could both go to bed one friday, and caress each other in safety, not for sex. I wish we could wake up the next day, be groggy, move slowly to the kitchen and start a routine that we have done hundreds of times. In this routine she or I, but in this case she puts on the kettle. I would go grab one of my homemade tea mixes whip up some soymilk and make a decent chai latte. I would have 2 knekkebrød one with butter and cheese (vegan subsitute) and one with a savoury spread, she would have an avocado toast. We would both be rather quiet, as we’d both be reading our books there in that kitchen. The room itself would be relatively small, with the kind of dated yet futuristic square furniture that you’d expect of the 70s. We’d sit across from each other, yet close as the table wouldn’t be too big. I’d wear a comfy and breathing shirt, with pants that went along in style. Her hair would be messy, yet I’d still love her. We could read our litterature in peace, with no preassure to impress each other, as we would know that we belong to each other. After a while, me or she, depending on the day, would break the silence to talk about something in the text. Then we talk until the radio turns on, as it would always do at 09:00 and play the news followed by jazz. I’d open the window either now or before, to let the cool coastal breeze come in that Bergen is known for, we wouldn’t live right by the street we would live inside a quarter yet still feel the sun, yet not directly in the mornings. I wish this could be our every saturday. But it won’t.
